6xyLabs

About

What is 6xy Labs?

6xy Labs is an independent software lab — one person building across multiple platforms and problem spaces.

The lab started as a place to build apps that I actually wanted to use — tools for real problems, not hypothetical ones. Over time it grew into a broader umbrella for everything: consumer apps, developer tools, Minecraft mods, experiments that may or may not ship, and eventually games.

Everything here is solo-built. That means slower release cycles sometimes, but it also means every decision — product, design, engineering — is made with full ownership and intentionality. There is no design-by-committee and no engineering shortcuts taken to hit a deadline set by someone else.

The name 6xy Labs is a nod to the experimental nature of the work. Not everything succeeds, and that's by design. The lab is where ideas get tested, iterated, and either shipped or shelved. The ones that ship are built to last.

Current active projects include RoommateOS and PlugIt, with more in active development. Check the projects page for the full picture.

How the lab operates

Ship real things

Ideas only matter when they become something usable. The lab focuses on finishing and shipping, not just prototyping.

Build broadly

Apps, tools, mods, games — the lab doesn't stay in one lane. Exploring different domains keeps the work interesting and the skills sharp.

Stay independent

No outside investors, no committee approval. Full creative and technical control over everything that ships.

Quality over quantity

A smaller number of well-made things beats a long list of half-finished projects. Craft and care go into everything.
